  1. the anti dwarf throwing association

  2. First you need to differentiate between Good Works and Charitable Works. Each has a place in the Charities Industry.

Good Works have a habit of being heavy on the overheads, so one needs to be SURE that this is properly understood, before donating.

A similar issue applies to Charitable Works. The Larger Charities operate on 40-60% pre-operational overheads........... then there are the backhanders to be made before gaining access to the targets for these charities...........

Actually, very little of your donations will actually do anything for the objects of your concern!

As a result of this, I tend to favour the smaller personal charities, which are generally run by unpaid volunteers.

When I contribute to overseas charities, I have done it with personal time and activity, supported by the purchase of equipment, goods and comforts............ never money!

  3. Any charity for children...they are our future...as long as they have one!  Children shouldn't die, be victims of abuse or suffer unnecessarily=]

  4. I always contact an agency to ask what percentage will actually go to the cause...You'd be surprised!!!  Some of these ads on TV are the worst. Most of the money is in their pockets, while SOME trickles down to the needy....One that I recommend, is the Salesian Sisters...They are an organization of Nuns..You know, Nuns take a vow of poverty and do not have the material things that most others do. All their time and money that is donated go right to the cause. Helping the poor, the sick..etc.  Google them for more info...

  5. Cancer Support, as they were so good to my husband.

  6. Personally I think health-wise that the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is one of the most deserving...Cystic Fibrosis is considered a 'rare' disease in the U.S. although over 30,000 people (young adults since the average lifespan is 36.5 years).  The U.S. government gives no money to 'rare' diseases, but they gave over 900 MILLION to breast cancer research alone last year....All money going into CFF is money that people like me have raised or contributions from businesses...CFF uses $.90 of every dollar on CF research...which is really good for a charity, in fact it is named in most top 10 efficient charity lists.

Also I think that the American Red Cross and any of the other disaster help organizations are a good investment.

  7. In terms of the United States and disaster relief, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army are the two largest and widespread relief agencies.  After them come the Southern Baptists and then many other denominations and organizations in their outreach and relief.  Check out the organizations that are active in these kinds of things.

  8. Habitat for Humanity- what a great organization!

  9. there are only three

    me myself and I

  10. Doctors without borders

    Habitat for humanity

    Red Cross

  11. I like the Wateraid charity because I think this is a very important area for charities to concentrate on.

40,000 children die every day YES EVERY DAY because of unclean drinking water.

  12. Will always give 2 the ones who have played a part in my life-- there are no number 1's--they are all deserving in their own right..I like your question..
