I'm trying to make my own eco surfwax out of beeswax among other ingredients. The final product comes out too thin. I'd like to add more texture to make it more pasty and more putty, but don't know where to go from here. I've read about natural clay or possibly honey. When I tried mixing clay paste with hot wax (double boiler), the clay simply wouldn't dissolve. If I added clay in powder form, a brick would be the final outcome.. Any help or direction would be great.

  1. A complete guess on my part  but....

Why not add a very small amount of vegetable oil (or linseed oil) to the hot beeswax.  Other than that I believe that you would need to use some type of solvent that would dissolve the wax then dry leaving the wax behind. Something like mineral spirits (paint thinner) or a citrus based solvent.
