I want to make an organization that will sweep the nation and be worldwide. I used to give money to a childrens home but now I want to do something that can get me on the news, and I want people to understand what and why I am doing this. I will give the best answer and 10 points to the best, including: why, and what I am doing?

  1. i think you should start an organization similar to "habitat for humanity" yet call it "habitat for hounds"

I have seriously thought of doing this myself one day, ...instead of people, you obviously raise money for more shelters, free dog houses, shelter additions, etc, etc. All for dogs and other animals as well, that ignorant humans have no clue about.

Let me know if you do , I will help you!

Before you file any paperwork, you need to get a very impassioned group of people together who support your idea and will provide some start up funding and serve on the board of directors, you need to get letters of endorsement from existing organizations saying this program is needed,  you need to have data that shows your target group is in need whatever service it is that you want to provide and that they are not served otherwise, and you need to have a draft of what your first year's budget would look like (what expenses you expect to incur, what you expect to pay staff, etc.)

The mission of your organization would be to serve whom? How? Why? And what qualifies you to be an expert the media should talk to about this effort?

  3. First you need to decide what kind of cause you want your organization to represent, make sure it's something you a passionate about so that you will stick with it long term.

Second, you need to start filling out paperwork to become a nonprofit organization---it takes time and money to get through the process.  In the US, it can take up to 11 months to get your nonprofit status recognized by the federal government.

Which means, you can't solicit funds yourself, unless you truly are a 501(c)3 organization, have a tax number and have certification from your individual State and Federal governments.  Anyone donating to your cause will not be able to "write off" their donation on the taxes until you have your paper work in order.

This whole process is tedious and take commitment to the cause---you'll also need to retain an attorney to file your paperwork and/or review your forms, by-laws etc.

Things aren't always as easy as they seem, there's always alot of behind the scenes work that has to be done to keep a nonprofit organized, up to date with tax laws and filings--besides just soliciting funds.

    Good luck

  4. "I like me foundation". Everyone who starts liking themselves & accepting themselves as they are can take money they used to spend because they felt insecure & give it to various charities. People who buy make up & who stop trying to "make up" who they are can take that money & put in away to send to your organization for example. Think of all the money spend on people who are trying to impress others by dieting or overeating to feel better etc.
