What original gift can my class give our retiring teacher, from an anxious teachers assistant?

I would love for our class to produce an original gift for our teacher who is retiring after 20+ years teaching. All I can think of are hastily drawn pupils and teachers which are then stuck into a scrap book!!!! Any new ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

One gift I got from my kids that was extremely touching was a personalized bag.

Some one bought a big tote (especially with people bringing their own bags to the grocery stores).  The kids all signed it and some wrote little messages in permanent marker.  It was signed from Class of 2007.

It was such a special gift to me and now is my official school bag.

Make a powerpoint set to music featuring this teacher at work.  Don't let him/her know what the photos are for - just say it is a project or something...ask the children's parents if they have pictures, or other teachers may have pictures featuring this teacher...see if you can contact a family member of the teacher who might be able to give you some pictures too...put them all together to a beautiful piece of music with a fitting song, and show it...it will get the tears flowing and be a memorable way to end a career.

see if you can get his old yearbook pics and make a collage...or take a pic of each student and have them write a personal message to the teacher and then put it all in a journal or scrapbook as a memory of his "last" class...
