Iced Earth, Early Man (definite callbacks to 80s thrash/heavy metal, both of them), Airbourne (sounds close to AC/DC), Eagles of Death Metal (NOT death metal, I swear to you. Side project of the singer of QOTSA), Pagan's Mind (they're just cool), Eidolon (side project of the Drover Brothers from Megadeth), Raconteur (side project of Jack White), Axel Rudi Pell (close to Yngwie Malmsteen), Stratovarius (has Malmsteen-like solos, but with a power metal set-up), Joe Stump (another Malmsteen-like shredder), Brainstorm and Symphorce (both have this in-your-face thrash/power metal kinda thing Iced Earth has going on)

Waitaminute, you like John Petrucci, but didn't list Dream Theater OR Liquid Tension Experiment?! What?!
