What other bus service to bay area are there from Los Angeles?

can anyone tell what other bus services there are to bay area

from Los Angeles other then Greyhound?

You are in Luck as there are several options! First of all try Megabus which has frequent low cost express bus service between LA Union Station and the Bay Area with stops in Oakland, San Jose, San Francisco and Milbrae. Fares are usually only about $20 or less each way.  Full information is available at www.megabus.com Another option would be www.gotobus.com which is a booking system for a service called California Shuttle Bus which has a daily bus between LA and the Bay Area for about $35. Lastly, Amtrak has great rail service along both the coastal and valley corridors for about $40 each way. The Central Coast Pacific Surfliner train runs north out of Downtown LA to San Luis Obisop where a thruway bus connects you the rest of the way into the bay area. The San Joaquin line starts via a thruway bus from several LA locations and brings you to the train to the bay area at Bakersfield. So you have many choices! You are right to avoid Greyhound they are the pits! Good Luck!

You might google Trailways, I think they are still in business,otherwise, maybe use the train, Amtrak.com, doesn't cost much more.

There are 4 round trips daily on Megabus, and if booked weeks in advance, can be much cheaper than Greyhound. However, walk-up is not an easy option as there are no stations and fares are bought online (although some stand-bys are accepted).

There are also chinatown buses that run between Los Angeles and San Fransico and operate in a similar manner as Megabus.

Amtrak is an option if you want to ride the train, but some of the trip would be on a Amtrak Thruway Motor Coach.  There is no direct Amtrak train between LA and SF
