What other documents can i use besides passport to go to Canada?

yes new legislation requires a valid passport

By land - a birth certificate and govenment issued photo ID.  By air - a passport.

If you are traveling by plane you will need a passport.  last time i went was in 2006, i could just use my DL and birth cert.  but I think they changed the law recently.

Sometimes they will accept photo ID (they did in Vancouver recently for me) but you better have a passport to get back INTO the US!

I believe a passport is required with all the recent laws.
