  1. Oh. I had a betta fish and the pet store owner said that goldfish live nicely with betta fish.

  2. No fish that are brightly colored, or have long flowy fins. Like Danios and sometimes tetras are ok. You can get dwarf frogs that live really well with them and they are SO adorable!!!

  3. is your betta a female? If not than I recommend that you keep a male by itself unless you only add bottom feeders such as plecos, catfish, cories, snails, algae eaters, ect. If you have a female she can live with danios/minnows, guppies, mollies, platies, rainbow fish, rasobora, swordtails, and tetras(these cannot be put with a male betta or they will die if he has a very nasty temper)

  4. I think you have to keep them separate from other fish to prevent fighting.

  5. any fish that are not agressive can go with your betta. just not another betta. guppies will nibble the tail of your betta but he should be fine.

  6. Male bettas live well with non-aggressive bottom feeders such as plecostomus or cory catfish. Any fish you put into the tank with him must be a docile, non-showy fish. Male bettas will mistake fish with long flowy fins for another betta and attack. Females can be kept with a variety of semi-aggresive or non-aggressive fish.

  7. Is your tank/bowl filtered? Betta's have lungs and gills so they don't need any bubbles in the water, however most other fish only have gills so they will need something to produce air bubbles. I find that most of the time aquatic frogs go quit nicely with most bettas. Just remember, bettas are an aggressive fish and they could kill any other fish you put with it. The size of your tank/bowl also is a factor if you want anymore fish with your betta.

In the end, I suggest keeping the betta alone, that is how they live in their natural environment. But if you feel that you really want another fish, you should probably go with an aquatic frog.
