What other fish should I add to my 20 gallon Aquarium?

I already have three gouramis, each about three inches long. and i also have one cory catfish.

I already know I have to get atleast two more corys since they like to school.

Would a couple of cichlids go well?

And I was definitely looking into getting a couple figure eight puffers. So would that also work ok?

What do you recommend?

  1. Yes, get two more corys..

Cichlids might not work.... Puffers wont work either.. I thought figure eight puffers are brackish fish?

  2. You could get blue german ram cichlids, they go ok with tetras, gourami, danios, and catfish.

They're a good community fish and grow to around 5"

  3. Gouramis are good fish.  My brother has some.  He also had some giant danios (I think that's what they're called).  He had bought three when he first got his aquarium and they lived for a long time.  They were also really fun to watch.

  4. I have a 29 gal freshwater tank.  I suggest that you check out some websites that will give some information about tank mates and about compatibility between fish.

Cichlids do not go well, puffers either. They will eat up your other fish especially be cause they will be over crowded.  I would stick to a few additional cory cats. Also only a certain number of fish can exist at the same time in a 20 gal tank. Check out the website I have below.

  5. get more corys, and u ask like two or one question a day.
