  1. We could have a big group session with them and try to convince them that their actions are self-defeating.  Give them therapy.

Like we're doing with Iran right now, until it gets to the point where talk won't work and action will be taken.

In other words, there was no other viable method to rid the world of the threat Saddam was.

  2. At the time, taking into consideration the intelligence that was presented, there was no other option.  You can look up the Pre War Iraq Intelligence Report and get some notes from that, regarding what was available at the time.

In hindsight, the invasion seems frivolous, but be assured, if the intelligence was known to be incorrect at the time, the invasion would most likely not taken place.

  3. stop buying oil from them  and stray them into submissiom

  4. We could have nuked them.

  5. I think the invasion was a good idea the problem was Shock and Awe jsut destroyes **** and moves on we should add a section of shock and Awe that after the armies move on from the area reconstruction teams move in this would win hearts and minds and get the support of the local population thus we would have been out by now....

  6. INstead?

Well, how about finishing the job in Afghanistan where terrorists actually trained and thrived?

Let me get this straight: It's okay for North Korea to starve it's people. It's okay for us to allow Darfur to continue, but let's send 120,000 soldiers to Iraq and cause complete chaos and civil war?

How about solving our real problem, terroris, rather than invading a country for oil (and by the way, that doesn't seem to be doing much for the American consumer in terms of gas prices but it sure is lining the pockets of big oil!)

  7. B-52's with nuke cruise missiles

    ICBM attack

    Poison gas and nerve agents

  8. special forces raids would have been a good option.  We did mostly the same thing in Afghanistan and that worked out pretty well.  Special forces before the invasion to soften up targets and then bring in about a dozen divisions to finish the job.

  9. For all them that say "Nuke 'Em" That wouldn't work, it would kill way too many Civvy's and because it's such a mountainous region the Nuclear fall out would stay around for Millenia.

  10. We could have gave the weapons inspectors more time to do their job and they probably would have discovered what invading took us to discover, that there were no WMD. We could have used diplomatic means like we are doing with Iran currently and a couple of months ago with North Korea.

  11. TRY PEACE, AND REMOVING OUR LYING GOVT WHO KNEW THERE WERE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!

    EDIT:

While the Iraqi people were in fact deprived of a number of civil rights so are most other peoples in that region.  This is not a defense of Saddam but it is a FACT that Iraq was one of the best educated, medically aided, and technologically advanced  societies ever to exist in that region.

  12. Not invaded them. Since the linkages were fabricated and the intelligence was falsified. We should never have gone into Iraq. Iraq was not a threat to us at the time we invaded, and Sudam hated Bin Laden because he symbolized the possibility of being taken out of power.

We have now created more terrorists than were around before 9/11 and our country is now at greater risk and nothing is being done to secure our home land!

  13. The only other real option would have been to continue the status quo.  Of course this would have continued the starvation of the Iraqi people due to UN and European corruption in the 'Oil For Food' operation.

Another thing to consider is that not going into Iraq would have meant that Al Queda would still be effective and able to conduct international operations today.  Our operation in Afghanistan merely drove them from some of their bases - we needed to draw them out onto a battlefield of our choosing.

  14. they violated every sanction of the un charter.21 resolutions before we went to war! what more do you need?

  15. CALL OF DUTY!!!!!!!! oh yeeeeaaaah

  16. We could have let the UN inspectors who were on the ground finish their job. Saddam Hussein was just bluffing the whole time about still possessing WMDs that were viable. This was to instill fear in the region and it cost him dearly. By the time he agreed to let the inspectors in, it was too late. We had decided to take action against Iraq. We had to order the inspectors out so that they wouldn't be harmed. Things would be different if the inspectors had finished and reported that there were no WMDs. Maybe better, maybe worse but definitely different.
