Question:

What other options do I have than killing myself?

I already attended a 4-Year University and a 2-Year Community College and was not able to make it through either. I cannot handle school anymore. Since I have been out of school (1.5 years) I have gotten a Felony on my record. Because of that, I cannot join the Army. I have been working for the past year and don't think I can handle it much longer. What can I do rather than kill myself?

  1. Only one other option:  NOT killing yourself.  Please don't.  I can tell just from your question that you are smart and decent enough to deserve to be alive.  Keep going!  Maybe find yourself a nice woman and/or a friend and try to stay out of jail.  I know it's not easy. You have a job, so you have that going for you. Here's a star.  Now get out there.

  2. If i was u i wouldn't kill myself i would just get a succuessful work than study alot for i could go to college than after that i would go to college well that's my opouin we'll just don't kill yourself there's more out there in life just try to find something else in life just don't kill yourself god brought u in life with his last powers  if u love god and ur family stay alive

  3. Whatever You Do Don't Kill Yourself Unless Your Ugly If You Are Go Ahead. LOL jk Don't kill yourself you just need to get down and study-udy-udy!! You will be fine.  But seriosly don't kill yourself. Good Luck In College!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Well , you seem to be under a lot of stress.

Well, at least you made it through high school and tried to go through college. Im not in school, at all.

I know what you mean though, i cannot handle school either.

But, hang in there, talk to someone about whats on your mind and what kind of pressure your under. There is people in your family im sure that would love to give you advice or help you out.

If not friends, or even attending counseling appointments could help as well.

I'd say, find a job you can handle and take things slow for a while.

Thats the best thing i can tell you.

  5. have you tried the fire brigade or police?

also just because you cant do anything in those careers now doesnt mean you wont be able to in later life - how about doing some volunteer work in one of those professions whilst doing something else to bring in some money...?

  6. If I were you I would go to some mental health place for help.  You say you have a job but can't handle it?   I am not understanding why you can't handle it. Is it cause you can't get into the army?

Since you have a strike against you I know finding a job is hard but you have one so why the thoughts of wanting to die?

Please seek professional help.  Don't think you can't afford it for there are still places to go for help for anyone.

Contact me if you wish for I care....

  7. Move to Wyoming. There are boat loads of jobs to be had there now because of the natural gas that is there. Smoking pot saved my life as well...just don't do it until after the drug screening.

  8. Nothing really - you've decided you can't do anything - and don't want to do anything - you can get welfare and be homeless.

  9. You should listen to Mystery 5. If you have focused on yourself and been unsuccessful then she is right-you should turn your focus outward. Don't throw you life away-give it away. Volunteer, keep your hands busy and your mind occupied. Opportunity will open up for you and the skills you learn while helping others will make you more prepared to meet it.

And yes, please find someone to talk to-friend, minister, professional, it does help.

  10. Pray.  Ask the Lord into your life.  Ask Him to straighten things out for you.  Read the Bible, New Testament first.  I found answers there.  Here are some Bible verses to look up:  Romans 10:13, Romans 5:8, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:16.  God has a plan for your life.  Jesus died for your sins and rose again that you might have eternal life and peace and joy in this life.  Realize that your sins have offended a holy God.  Ask His forgiveness.  Trust Christ as your Savior and Lord.  Determine to live for Him as best you can.  Look for a Bible-believing church to join.    Keep working.  Ask God to help you to be content in your job or provide a new one for you.  I'll pray for you.  God bless you, my friend.

  11. PLEASE DONT KILL YOURSELF!!!!! That is a sin and wont solve your problems. you will eventually find a solution. Maybe talk to family about solving your problems. Go back to school and get help with all the work. Just pleaz pleaz pleaz dont kill yourself it isnt worth it.

  12. John, I think it is time for you to look outside yourself for fulfillment.   I strongly urge you to get a job for a while working for a charitable organization (Salvation Army, Goodwill, Red Cross, etc. etc. - there are literally too many to list here).

The pay will not be good, but the life education will be priceless.  It will give you an opportunity to see much more of life and a chance to get your own priorities sorted out.  In a way this could be your road to a certain type of "riches".

I beg you to get the idea of suicide out of your mind.  I have lost several family members this way and you cannot imagine the pain this has caused and the voids they left behind.  You are valuable and cannot be replaced.  Good luck!

  13. Please DON'T kill yourself, its the cowards way out.

First get yourself some counseling. Then when you get your head on straight you will be able to figure out what you need to do.Counseling is free in alot of areas, I hope you find one.

Please don't do anything rash, you will not only be punishing yourself but your loved ones too will suffer for the rest of thier lives.

Where there is life there is hope, don't give up. you are loved.

  14. There are multiple free hot lines you can call, where you can just talk to someone and tell them how you feel. Get it all out. The write everything you're feeling on a piece of paper. Reread it, and ask yourself what you can do to change all the negative feelings. Then do it.

Keep your job. You need the money.

When you think you're ready, go back to school. Try your hardest, forget the internet and STUDY. You. Can. Make it.

I believe in you! Don't let the darkness take you, FIGHT IT. You can make something of yourself and get your life on the right track.

Come on! Show the world that you're not going to give up! Be strong!

  15. Leaving school is not the end of the world. Getting a felony is not the end of the world. Not being able to join the army is (certainly) not the end of the world.

Don't rob the world of yourself - we need you.

Don't smoke weed, it'll just dump you into depression.

Getting famous is a bore. Really, don't listen to these bad ideas ;-P

Homelessness isn't as much of a fairy tale as it looks.

Read postsecret and have a glimpse into the lives of others (postsecret.com)

Take it one day at a time.

Maybe you need a change. A new state? Sounds like you need a new job. Even a new city. Go somewhere new and start over. Re-discover life and how amazing the world can be. Try something new. Try something you've never done before. Help someone else in any way you can. Sit outside and enjoy whatever is going on - the rain, the heat, the storm, the traffic, the calm... whatever it is, just take a minute to enjoy it.

  16. G That depends on whether you want to kill yourself, or succeed. If you want economic redemption and a release of inherent abilities that you have bottled up, google sgi-usa. There are plenty of answers that want your donations and want you to believe something. If you want success in life without having to believe stuff, just try talking to sgi-usa.

  17. Well firstly, suicide is the most selfish thing you could possibly do.  Think about what it would do to your friends and family.

Secondly, working for a year has made you suicidal? You realize that almost every person alive will work for around 50 years of their life?  I think you need to wake up and realized what life is actually like.  Think of a job you would like, and take the necessary steps to get there.

  19. You can go to a trade school. It isn't academic...it's learning a skill, and tradesman can make some pretty good money. Truck driving school is an option as well...it isn't academic.

Or, go to the hospital, explain that you believe you will hurt yourself, and have yourself voluntarily committed for a psychiatric evaluation. In all likelihood, a psychiatrist will speak with you and plot a future course of action. Because you committed yourself voluntarily, you can leave if you don't like the program.

  20. You can just tough it out./....

  21. Maybe you're just not a "book" person.  That's ok.  Have you tried learning a trade?  For many, the trades can provide a sense of personal satisfaction as well as a good salary.  Look into your local unions: plumber, carpenter, electric, or even think about becoming a mechanic.  If this doesn't work for you, then you will just have to keep trying new things until you find the thing that fits.  Try not to get discouraged.  Everyone has a niche and you will find yours if you jsut keep trying.  Hope is very important.  You need to believe that the best is yet to come.  Block out all negative thoughts and if that doesnt work then you need to talk to someone.  Family, friends, or your local church can all offer a willing ear.  If you continue to have suicidal thoughts please call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline:  800-273-TALK

  22. go back to school and do everything you can to make it through

or try out real estate or do a job that does not require a college education

    dont give up

    dont kill yourself

    do your very best

and i promise your life will get better :]

  23. Talk to someone...and go into a career that doesn't need a huge amount of school education (I know there aren't a lot, but you'll find something). Don't kill yourself, because it won't make things easier. It will just end things when they're bad, and never give anything a chance to get better..

  24. don't smoke weed...if you believe god which i hope you do try praying or going to church..it will help he changed mine...and only god can change this you may not know it but he will...just ride it out everything will be ok

  25. go to a mental institution!!!! DONT KILL YOUERSELF!!!!!!!! that will only make things bad for the ones that either u love or tht love u!!! nothing is worse than killing yourself!

if u absolutely have to, then go to a psych ward!!! that WILL help you!!!

  26. Go and get treated for depression. That's what I'd do. I personally know many people who had a vastly different background than those who went from parent's house to dorm room and from there to their husband's house w/out that much as a speeding ticket, and they are a very gifted bunch that have fumbled through their lives collecting error after error to add to their belt of experience just to emerge as a talented and experienced practitioners (I'm in counseling field). You don't have to be a Goody Two Shoes to make it anywhere and you don't have to do it right from your 1st try. I know people who have a booming practice who have criminal records, who it took 16 years to complete their degree and who had failed their MFT exam 6 times just do pass it on 7th... You don't owe to anyone to be perfect. You do however have to realistically assess why you are so down, deal with it and move on.

  27. Take some classes on line, And stop thinking about stupid things, Think positive, A man was crying because he had no shoes,He stopped when he ran into a man with no feet.

  28. What helps me feel better is...(this is going to sound strange) think of the good in your life. think of your life in relation to other peoples. to be true, i think so many of us have it so well. imagine your problem in comparison to other people out there dying in the world...with disease and starvation and no where to turn. don't you see? our problems r really quite small compared to that. if you have a felony it doesn't make you a bad person. it just means that you're misguided. try therapy. go to a spa? hang out with people that you know. do things that you like to do, as opposed to wondering about all the sadness you feel.

  29. U need a challenge. Try something completely different (not killing yourself).

  30. My father did not graduate from high school.

Then he did not graduate from college.

Then he did not graduate from Law school.

He did attend all of the above.  He gained admission to each of the subsequent levels of school through testing

He then found the that the career he wanted was in retail sales.  He became so good with evaluating jewelry that he was asked to teach courses by the american gemological society.

You may not have found the right thing to make your life seem fulfilling to you but if you stop looking you may fail to find something that will truly make you happy.

  31. wow people are stupid. smoke weed is the worst thing you can do or try hurting yourself. you can look at your options. talk to your parents ask for advice. slow down a bit dont go to school if its stressing you way to much. take a break. you can get a job somehwere for meanwhile or something.
