What other phone companies are there besides Vonage and SBC?

There are few of them in the market right now. Each of them has their own advantage and disadvantage.I have tried with vonage,lingo and few others, but stick with only one that is http://www.phone.helptopost.com iam currently paying $8.95/month with unlimited 7 more country calling.For More info please visit  http://www.phone.helptopost.com

I'm glad you clarified your question, as companies like Vonage are VoIP service providers (and, compete with standard phone services), whereas companies that own the copper wires running to your house are the traditional PSTN phone companies.  (It is getting difficult to differentiate these days, though).

Depends where you are! Att -  Bell south - General - look in phone book for telephone companies & start calling or asking questions.
