There's also amazon.com, which I've heard is really good! Ebid is also supposed to be good.

Etsy.com is pretty similar to ebay, but it works both ways. You can request an item and people will bid on how much they want you to pay for it. A lot of the stuff is really cool, and unique. The people there also are usually very people oriented, so if they have something that you like or want they are usually very open to customizing it for you.

Here is a list of auctions sites, including eBay.  All I did was plug "auction sites" into Google.
