What other team do you think has the greatest threat to the US?

I thought from day 1 that this team would win gold, but I don't know much about international basketball... If there was one team that posed the greatest threat to the US, who would it be?

Spain was the main threat coming into the olympics. Also included are Argentina, Greece and from the looks of things so far Lithuania is doing good right now, having beat Argentina once.

But if Team USA plays the way they played tonight..they should win the gold easy. The way they are playing, this is the best olympic basketball team representing the US since the 1996 olympic basketball team.

Greece and Spain were supposed to be the biggest threats but since the US blew them away I would say Argentina and Lithuania.

honestly its argentina

they have a great team they play well together

they no eachothers style

and manu ginobili is probably the best international player

in fact i think that argentina has a good chance at the gold

besides that lithuania might have a chance

Argentina, but they way the US took care of Spain, Greece, and China...well maybe there is no real threat....we will just have to wait and see

I always thought it was just Spain and Greece and maybe China were our biggest threats. Probably Argentina?

This may sound silly, but I think any team poses a threat to the US. As crazy as this statement sounds, it only takes one game to lose contention for that gold medal. There is no doubt that this US team is by far the best squad out there in the world, but they can have a off day too. I do not think there is one team that the US should take lightly because the competition has gotten much better.

Initially, the sports analysts were saying Spain would give the US a challenge because of the great talent they have at each position (Gasols, Calderon, Garbosa, Navarro,etc), but the US proved Spain was no match for them. However, this is not the medal rounds. If the US does not shoot well and the opposing team is knocking down their shots, then we are in trouble. The thing that is consistent in the US is the defense, so I know that will always be there. I am watching these games in hope that the US can retain its title of being the best in basketball once again.

simply none. thats the truth. look we beat all the top teams. we blew out Lithuania at the exbition games, then we blew out greece with the bench at the 4th quater and we just raped spain. Aregntina we beat them last year in FIBA. plus they arent better caz Ginobolli is growing older. so we will cruise threw the tournament at  a breeze
