  1. there are at least 15 different statin drugs out there that your doctor can prescribe...ask him.

  2. Crestor, zetia, lovastatin are some other coman drugs used for cholesterol. Contact your local pharmacy about any other drugs that may be used for cholesterol.

  3. I take Wine Extract. It is from www.chi-health.com.  It is 100% natural and organic, so no side effects.  Every other cholesterol medicine made me sick. So glad if found this.   Good luck!!!

  4. You might want to try the natural route - Cholesterol Regulation Complex.  Its a blend of natural ingredients which include a unique compound that inhibits the absorption of dietary cholesterol and has been shown to increase HDL ("good") cholesterol.  Also, it does not interrupt the production of coenzyme Q10, a nutrient important to heart health that helps cells produce energy, unlike statin drugs.

  5. googal , an ayurvedic drug ,

  6. As this is the alternative medicine section; full-strength Garlic (Allium sativum) tablets are a very good way for lowering blood lipid & blood cholesterol levels.

Always buy the regular ones and NOT odorless (odorless have been shown to be far less effective due to Allicin (one of the active ingredients in garlic) being inactivated and lower in content; thus having a lesser effect).
