  3. About global warming: We have either just signed or about to sign the Kyoto Protocol.

A quarter of our electricity is from renewable sources.

Water is an important issue right now. The government recently announced plans to complete the GAP which among other things  foresees the completion of drip-irrigation systems of all Southeast Anatolia and Konya.  If everything goes according to plan, due to GAP we will bypass the danger of drought. That is what the government says.

About CO2: Turkey, although being the 17th largest economy in the world, it's per capita CO2 emission ranks 98th.

Other environmental issues: The ministry of Environment, municipalities, NGOs, foundations like Tema Vakfı or DenizTemiz, universities and private sector make campaigns about various environmental issues from time to time.
