I love these two colors together and really want to incorporate them in my formal living room, but i'm just not sure what paint color would be best? Also i plan on painting vertical stripes and would need the two best paint colors to go along with my chocolate brown and sage green decor, is this a wise idea?

  1. medium/light blue. or a beige, it'll lighten up the dark furniture. oh and no stripes. it would look a bit much, one color is good :)

  2. A light toffee or caramel color would be pretty. And would still keep the formal feel and look of the living room. While adding abit of "lightness" to it, if that makes any sense, lol.

If you want something more neutral go with a tan or beige.

  3. you should choose white walls. for various reasons:

    - white makes the room seem bigger and airier

    - its best not to add any more colours to the theme you already have. if there are too many colours, it will not appear to have a colour theme

    - if you want to change your room at any point, you can keep the walls white, as white goes with everything!

-having white walls will draw more attention to the accessories and furniture in the room. you dont want to walk into a room and think... WALLS!! so that answers your question about the stripes... probably not a good idea.

the only time you shouldn't have white is if you smoke in the room...the white will soon turn to yellow... nice : { lol

    hope this helps!

  4. Find a dusky blue for this- it will complement the brown (by contrast) and harmonize with the green. The room sounds beautiful, by the way, I have my dorm set up with those colors. :) I agree that wall stripes might not be the best (given that you have both a furniture color and an accent color, I think a single wall color would be best--colors should be in odd numbers in a room), but it you have your heart set on them, I would go with another shade of brown- a lighter one though, or your room may seemed too cramped/dark given the furniture. Some shades of purple might be another option, but that would be really tricky to get right...Good luck!

  5. It really depends on the natural light in your room, size, arrangement... so  many factors!  However, I like a warm beige or a rich mocha color with these.  Together they make me think of warm comfort, relaxation, and natural spaces.

    Have fun!

  6. depends on the mood  or feel you are going for. brown and greens are considered neutral colors therefore just about anything will go with them.
