What paint should i use to paint a football helemet?

My football helemt is crappy so im going to but a riddell revolution helmet or a schutt dna helmet, i need my helmet to be maroon but sports stores only sell white helmets and gray facemasks, so i need to know what paint do i need to use to paint the helmet and facemask?

Order the helmet online.  Try the fit of the helmet in stores, but go to the manufacturer's website to get a helmet painted in the correct color (and also conforming to NOCSAE standards).

I would use Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Paint.  You can find the color you want and it is a fast dry alkyd.  The paint will hold up to mild impact. Use a clear coat over it to improve impact resistance and to boost the gloss.

When applying the paint first spray a "mist" coat.  Remember it is better to spray 3-4 quick light coats rather than 2 heavy coats.

Buy one alread molded in your color. A lot of paints will make the helmet no longer qualify NOCSAE.

Use engine block paint. Its very durable. You could also try tractor paint it is very durable as well!
