I am interested in playing paintball and I was wondering if it would be better to get a kit that has everything or just the gun, and also what kind would be the best one?

  1. Tippmans are good guns but if your a beginner and only want a gun to go a few times id suggest something cheaper. It depends on you and how deep you plan on getting into the sport of paintball. So im gonna lay it out like this.

    If you plan on going once in a long while and just want the gun to not have to rent and your a beginner i suggest a tippman kit that comes with all you need for under $150.

    If you plan on going more often i suggest you get a tippman 98 custom with seperate gear. Plan on spending atleast $250.

    If your planning on going alot and enjoy the sport and you feel like you will get good at paintball its best to have one of the best guns out there that will last and hold its own. For this i suggest nothing more or less than an ion, with an ion theres no need to upgrade later except add custom parts. These are the ones the pros use and i myself had one until i got a job and have no time to play so now my little brother uses it. An ion runs you from $200-$400 new or used id suggest looking at your local craiglist as i have seen some good paintball guns including ions for a cheap price because some people dont know what they truly have. Whatever you choose good luck out there!

  2. Scamp said it all except i hate ions so i would say just buy a tippmann 98 custom, there ulta durable, really upgradeable, and all around a great gun.

  3. A Tippmann 98 custom. Best beginner gun. Just make sure you get it with the E-Grip which allows you to alternate between semi-auto, 3 shot burst, or full auto. And plus this gun has a bunch of upgrades, you will never get bored with it.

  4. Woodsball = Tippmann 98 Custom

    Speedball = Smart Parts Ion

    Just the gun and buy the gear separately.  Get a mask with a thermal lens (duel pane), anti-fog coatings and sprays don't work.  A fogged mask can ruin the whole day.

  5. Can't go wrong with a Tippmann 98 custom ive had mine for about 3-4 years and it still shoots good. I had an ion and it had too many problems and changing things on the board takes alot of patience and reading of the manual. I would highly recommend the Proto SLG goes for 199.99. You know its good because its made by Proto who is owned by Dye who has the top guns every year.

    If u dont have alot of money and you wanna use rental gear at local fields buy your equiptment in this order.

    1. A good mask-All the rental ones are not in very good condition.

    2. Hopper- Buy the most expensive one you can afford.

    3. High Pressure Air Tank-C02 is cheaper yes but in the long run your gun will thank you.

    4. Finally you buy your own gun. If you use your own hopper and own HPA on a rental gun you will do fine until you buy your own gun.

    go to that website look through the videos and you will learn so much about the sport of paintball

  6. Well I also suggest a tippmanns 98...its very simple which makes it easy to learn the various parts... Its also very durable and upgradable... Once you've picked the marker you want you have to look at the price... The 98 has a lot of kits and some are good deals however many of these kits don't have quality parts... I'd reccomend buying gear seperate but it all depends on the amount of money you want to spend...the best thing I think would be trying to find a local paintball shop and finding a deal on a setup... No matter what you do the tippmann is the best starter gun
