What pan should I use to make a cake?

I don't have any typical cake pan sizes. All I have are glass casserole dishes (10x13, 8x8, and 9x5). Can I use any of these to make a cake? If so, what time/temperature should I bake it?

  1. A regular rectangular cake pan is 9"x13", so your 10"x13" pan would be a good choice.  The batter will be spread out just a little more, so it would be a good idea to reduce the bake time by a few minutes.  You might even want to reduce the temperature by 5 degrees or so, if your oven runs hot.
