Legally? virtually impossible.  Fly over on a stand-bye ticket for $100, show up at immigration and they will give you 6 months on a tourist visa if you can show some real dough or have a contact here, 1 to 3 months if not.  Once here there is a thriving underground economy where you can work at anything cash in hand.  Aim for central London, people live here for years 'off the books.'

Go to the Department of Immigration and Naturalization. They have info and a phone number you can call for that information. good luck since 9-11 things are bogged down and they are charging outrageous fees. Miss Mary
