Excluding alien abductions. For example, 14 hours feel like 14 minutes, heck, even seconds for that matter. Like a time vortex if you know what that is somewhat, or a time dialation field, a disruption in the time-space continuim.

  1. JWilliams answer is not quite correct.  Special relativity states that the faster you move, the slower time passes for you - that's time dilation.  It has nothing to do with the amount of matter or mass present.  Astronauts don't age any differently in space.

So moving close to the speed of light can change your perception of time, but no one has ever been able to move that fast, so it hasn't happened to anyone yet.  Basically, the only thing I could think of that does what you describe is falling asleep.  Does it for me every night.  There are no 'time vortexes'.

  2. It seems you are addressing not the passage of time, but the *perceived* passage of time.  Sleep is the obvious answer, but meditation can also do this, as can sensory deprivation.  The important thing to note here is that time is not passing any more quickly, but because it's a subjective interpretation, the passage of time *appears* to be faster.

  3. Did this happen to you?

  4. I'm no wiz in the field of relativity and physics, just a lowly engineer. But one theory states something along the lines of matter and time are inter related. Therefore less matter less time. Which is why astronauts age slower in space.
