  1. I would again say a Conure. I have a green cheek conure which I only got about 6 months ago. He is the smartest little thing I have ever met in my life. I don't have a lot of previous bird experience and Aflac (my baby's name) has learned so many things in such a short time. He does not bit, or nip, he is pretty much potty trained, he doesn't talk yet however he does sound like he's trying to make words by saying the syllables. He loves to cuddle, and will sit with me and fall asleep while I am watching tv. He definitely knows what fruits or veggies he likes, and will spot them from pretty much anywhere. Aflac is also very very good with my 3 year old niece, who loves to pick him up and place him on her shoulder. He makes a great companion, who is just a joy to have. I live in a condo and my neighbors don't even know I have a bird, so he is fairly quiet. He loves to go outside with me and sing to all the other birds. So he comes with me to garage sales, and hardware stores just happy as ever to get to come with. He listens for the sound of the door to know when I get home, and if he is out of his cage with my boyfriend will jump down on the floor and run over to me like a dog.

On the other hand though, because he is soo social he's not a bird that would be okay just staying in his cage all the time. Toys can get pricey for any bird if you are buying them at the store, but I have found lots of great ideas of how to make your own toys and Aflac just loves them.

And he loves to play with the straw. I love his colors.

Hope you love your birdy as much as I love mine, good luck.
