  1. I know they were training Georgian troops for months before Georgia saw fit to ethnically cleanse the Russians in South Ossetia.

I can only hope the US didn't play a hand directly in any of these events, there is no proof so far they did :)

  2. They provided weapons , training of Georgia troops . and encouraged Georgia to attack the break away republic . The Evil ones are loose again .

  3. 1. They armed and trained the Georgian military.

    2. They sponsored Georgia for NATO membership. The USA had promised Gorbachev in the 1980s to limit the new NATO countries so as not to threaten Russia if the Soviet Union withdrew from Eastern Europe. Under Clinton and after it ignored that promise.

    3. US military have been using Georgia as a base. Georgia has given 2000 of its troops to help the USA in Iraq. In general, it has indicated an extreme eagerness to become a US military friendly client state.

    4. The USA has been all over Russia diplomatically since Georgia's attack. It has not said much, if anything, in condemnation of Georgia's starting this war with its attacks on civilians.

    5. Also, though this applies to the European Union as well, it has not paid any attention to an internationally monitored election on November 12, 2006 in which the majority of the people of South Ossetia voted for independence from Georgia. This is strange, because the right of Georgia to be independent of Russia is based on the people's will, not history, and South Ossetia has both on its side when its people say that they want to stay in Russia.

Two-thirds of the people of South Ossetia are not Georgian or Russian!

They are descendants of the Alans, a horse-riding tribe like the Huns.

  5. inviting Georgia into NATO,  and in case you forgot, the missile defense system that is going into Poland, (which Russia is threatening with nukes) was originally going to be in Georgia

something tells me Russia just doesn't want the USA in Russia back yard with a missile defense weapons

  6. good question since public media completely turned the whole story around. this link should tell it as it happened:

  7. Directly, backed Georgia when Georgia attacked S.O. Georgia never would've dared to provoke Russia without the backing of US.

Then unconditionally backed Georgia after the attack, even though they full well knew it was Georgia that attacked S.O.

Trained and armed Georgian army, with Israel as well.

Immediately flew Georgian troops from Iraq, so they can be deployed against Russia.

Indirectly - Defense shield in Europe, NATO enclaving Russia and US backing those states to enclave Russia. US trying to gain its sphere of influence at Russia's expense.

"By declaring the Caucasus, a region that is thousands of miles from the American continent, a sphere of its 'national interest,' the United States made a serious blunder."

  8. There is oil in the Caucasus area.  Those mountains run throughout Georgia and there is a long history of ethnic differences and conflict much like in the Balkans. Hitler invaded Russia to obtain the oil resources there. Recently Israeli military advisors were training the Georgian army which dropped its weapons and ran upon seeing Russian tanks. And the US was providing military assistance to

the glib, lying but very photogenic President of Georgia.  The US has been trying to sponsor Georgia as a NATO member so that bases can be built next to Russia, and kitty corner to Iran.  Remember how the Turks ( 90% of the population was adamant on this point) refused to allow the US to use the bases there to invade Iraq so that all of the invasion forces had to be funneled into the Persian gulf ?  Well Georgia has ports on the Caspian sea which can easily be reached via the Mediterranean.  No, what happened was that the President of Georgia got arrogant and decided to try his hand in a little ethnic cleansing so that the US and Europe would jump in and help him to consolidate a part of the area which has been negotiating a kind of autonomous power arrangement with Georgia.  It did not work.  He started the conflict and under international law did not have a leg to stand on regardless of his pre emptive  law suit to the International court in the Hague. ( the guy trained at Columbia University so he has all the American PR moves down pat).
