  1. Greater Metro Manila area (Manila and other key cities like Quezon City).

In Manila alone, there are many historical sites like the Intramuros, numerous churches (Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church etc), Fort Santiago and the seat of power in the country which is the Malacanang Palace...  It is also a vital part of our culture and lineage.  As an example, there's Binondo which is our Chinatown.

If one will just walk around the streets of Manila, there are still remnants of old theatres and other historical buildings (like the old Congress Building).

Also, many architectural feats of Filipinos are in Manila (like the Coconut Palace) and old buildings along Taft.

The Manila Hotel is also in Manila.  It is once the home of General Douglas McArthur.  Currently, one of its suites is actually called the McArthur Suite.  It is also where famous celebrities once stayed (like the Beatles) as well as esteemed world leaders.

Quezon City used to be the capital of the Philippines.  It is also the current home of the flagship campus of the country's premier university.  Of course, the world famous EDSA - home to 2 peaceful "revolutions," is in Quezon City.

It is in Makati where the American War Cemetery & Memorial is located.  It is part of our history too as now it is the country's business district.

Caloocan (or Kalookan) houses Bonifacio's statue as well as the Balintawak Monument.

I can think of more but I'm afraid I'll occupy too much space.  :)

  2. Metro Manila. At the National Museum we can look for historical artifacts.

  3. ...just a small addition to kahlan's answer.

let's not forget the luneta monument - our country's tribute to our national hero.  (besides, the knight will not forgive us if we don't include his idol pepe.)

  4. Ilocos Norte does have history but the most in one area is probably Manila with Intramurouse, the American occupation sites, Japanese Occupation sites, Dutch and British, as well as Spanish sites...all in one small area.  There are military forts, air bases, cannon guns, corregidor nearby, etc.
