  1. Just stay at one of the airport hotels; they are always nice and safe and have restaurants around.  Then get a a taxi from there to the port.  The airport hotels should have free shuttles between the hotel and airport.  They can take you back to the airport for a taxi or call one from the airport for you.

If your ship leaves around 4 or 5 PM just leave the hotel about noon and you'll be there in plenty of time, its about a 45 minute to hr taxi ride.

  2. See if you can get a deal at the Miami Intercontinental. This is a fantastic hotel and they do have deals available on the travel sites. We got to stay in a room posted at $525 a night for only $125. It overlooks Biscayne Bay and a park. You can also walk over to bayside Mall and get some lunch. When you wake in the morning you can see your ship has come in literally.

  3. http://www.laurajamestravel.com book the cheapest price for a decent hotel by star rating.  Call the hotel to make sure that the rate on line is cheaper or the hotel is offering a better rate directly.

  4. Stay to the South of the airport. Areas to look at are Blue Lagoon and Coral Gables. Most hotels will have a shuttle from the airport and some also to the port. Another area is downtown, but be selective in the hotels you choose there. Some parts of downtown are not that nice.

  5. Uh, Have you ever been to Miami?  The best place to stay in Miami (City Motto - "Maybe you won't get shot") is somewhere in Georgia

  6. They have hotels right near the cruise terminal, like half a mile or a few blocks from it.

  7. You might just want to stay at one of the numerous hotels right by the airport. Otherwise stay on Miami Beach, and if you have time before your cruise the next day, go down to the beach. Its beautiful!

There are tons of hotels on Miami beach and its only minutes from the cruise dock.

    Enjoy Miami and Happy Cruising!

  8. I agree with the InterContinental Hotel suggestion. That is located downtown in Miami, and in a decent part of it. Miami (especially around the Port) really isn't that great... Anything off Biscayne Blvd (US1) usually is a bust, but if you have some time to stop by for a night (if your cruise leaves later in the day so you can look around town), nice areas to stay in are Coral Gables (old Spanish luxury--great amibance), Coconut Grove (if you like mild nightlife- a comedy club, a few restaurants and shops) or just stay in a major chain near the airport itself like Hilton or Sheraton, can't go wrong there.
