  1. My partner was there when our son was born and it didn't seem to bother him at all!  I was the squeamish one, deliberately not looking down at the blood and afterbirth etc, lol!  My other half was fascinated!  He had just scoffed a McDonalds and a whole tub of Ben and Jerrys and he watched the whole thing without feeling in the slightest bit sick or faint!  He kept popping outside to phone people - his mum, my mum, friends etc - to tell them how it was going, he was so excited, lol!

If a man truly is squeamish then I can understand him not wanting to be there but for those who aren't, well its a great experience - I needed and wanted him there to support me. I don't have a sister and my mum wasn't able to be there, tbh she'd have been no use at all, lol!  She gets more panicky than I do!

I think its great for a man to be with his missus for the birth of their children.

  2. my husband was at both our childrens birth and im very envious because he says its the most amazing thing to see a child born into the world so guess gotta wait till my daughter has children and hope she asks  me in the delivery suite lol fingers crossed

  3. Some old doctor who was 'with it' in the 1950s started this little debate going in the Daily Mail, I don't think there are many fathers who attended the birth of their child under sufferance.

  4. For some guys, the realization that no matter how big their tally-wacker, they will NEVER be able to match/fill that!  (Sorry, tacky but true).   For others, the whole blood, to gross to watch (MY EYES!!!!!!! OH MY GOD, MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!) thing

  5. I can only answer on behalf of my husband and that is seeing how much pain you're actually in and the amount of blood lose.

All I can say is he cried at the end - it was really endearing.

  6. Even though I have been at the birth of all 3 of my boys, The worst part I thought on all 3 was watching the afterbirth come out.

It was a great excuse to `wet` the baby`s head  :)
