  1. I try to focus on the back, lower half. That seems to work for me. But a lot of that has to do with your setup, ball position, etc.

My suggestion is to try to focus on different parts for a series of shots and see what produces the best results for your swing.

  2. Definitely the back of the ball.  I put the logo at the back and focus on that during the tee shot.

  3. if you think of it like looking down at a clock, i like to focus between 4 and 5 oclock.

btw, since most balls are 2 piece, you want to make contact perpendicular to the seem of the cover so that the energy is transfered forward, not out.  it's a little thing, but if you're looking for better contact and getting the most out of your shot, it takes zero effort other than setting the ball on the tee the right way.

  4. back of the ball

  5. As you can see by the responses no one knows what part of the golf ball you should look at during address. It's another one of those personal choice things in golf. What works best for you is what you should be doing. There's no magic involved.

  6. I recommend you place the golf ball with the brand and number looking straight at you, before you start your swing look at the number!!!

  7. Off the tee, I set the ball up so the second A in Callway is in the back quarter of the ball, and thats my focus shot.  On the fairway I pick a dimple, as stated above and thats what I use.  On the green, I use the two L's to set the line on my putt, perfectly legal, and that really helps with the line, not so much with the speed, but it is a good visual.  Otherwise, just pick something that works for you and that you can become comfortable with and never deviate from that.  Good luck.

  8. I think you ask this queston because you want to have better ball contact... if so then you think too much details... just see the ball and swing your club.  Which part of the golf ball you see doesn't effect with the impact...   If you want, you can see the top of the ball, its much more easier than if you see the back of the ball... more easy are better...

For better contact, good balance will help a lot.

How to make it further and straight that different things...

  9. back or even a little behind the ball it helps me

  10. I pick a dimple in the back center of the ball and FOCUS on it and don't look away.  Seems to help when it's one dimple your looking at instead of the ball as a whole

  11. Tiger -

Inside back left is supposed to produce a draw shot, back right is supposed to produce a fade. This is the conventional wisdom and I think Harvey Penickcovers this topic in one of his books.

Myself, I don't really focus on anything, I kind of generally see the ball, but I don't try to focus on one specific spot.
