What parts of the earth do not have natural disasters?

I don't think Phoenix and many parts of Arizona can other than brush fires. I would call that a stoppable disaster, whereas a tidal wave, earthquake or tornado could not be stopped.

  1. Newfoundland Canada. We do get a lot of snow and a tail end of a hurricane which is just a small storm. Besides that, from living there for 14 years, I haven't encountered anything or heard of any natural disasters.

  2. A meteor strike could kill us off right now.

  3. I believe that ever corner of the earth is to some degree at risk of having natural disasters.  Remember, even an asteroid hitting the earth would be considered a natural disaster.

  4. If you think about it in perspective, there's no such thing as a natural disaster.  There's just nature.  Sometimes events happen that kill humans, or otherwise present us with circumstances we're not too happy with... this happens everywhere.  If it's too far from the coast to have tidal waves or hurricanes, there's always a chance of earthquakes or tornadoes... if not on a faultline, there's still droughts or floods or sandstorms or any number of natural events that disrupt what we'd call a normal life.  But that's just the way the world goes.

    Then the meteor strikes.

  5. Everywhere is going to have something. If it is not any of those you mentioned it could be snow storms, sand storms, giant hail, and other destructive forces of nature. The west, just east of the Cascades is pretty calm as far as natural disasters go. Earthquakes are very mild since the fault is on the other side of the mountains, and not much else is going to get you right in that area, particularly in the eastern foothills of the cascades, except lots of snow in the north.

  6. none are exempt

  7. would a severe drought count as a natural disaster?  i think the southwest is headed that way..
