A corn kernel is a monocot fruit mostly made up of endosperm, but you generally also eat the seed. Broccoli is made up of tons of little flowers--not certain what exactly your teacher (assuming this is part of homework, study, or quiz) is looking for. Each individual clump of flowers (each "piece" of broccoli) is called a floret.
