  1. I think that it is the economists who support the NAU and NAFTA since both would allow for free trade.  If you are talking about parties, I think that the Democrats are the ones who except it the most since it was Clinton's idea to enter into the NAFTA treaty.

  2. Republicans are supporting the North American Union because they are good businessmen to exploit territories even outside the US.

  3. bush sr started it clinton picked up on it and the republican controlled congress pushed it through.  So both parties have supported it mainly because of lobbyist money from corporations and basically the American people got screwed again.

  4. Only the Parties that were bought off by the sales pitch that there are ignorant people on both sides of the border that are too stupid to think for themselves and that there is money to be made by the Elite from all the countries involved.

My God both countries are beautiful places and there are many people who are loyal to their countries, while the common folk love their countries, the rich and the elite want to give it away. I say live ant home and visit other places, it is up to the Govt to protect their respective countries, not give it away.

  5. McCain actually!

Hillary and Obama want Protectionism...a renegotiation of NAFTA....something that will p**s off our neighbors!

  6. DEMOCRATS

  7. another thing that needs to be kicked to the curb......

  8. Don't know about NAU, but NAFTA has had support from Republicans and to a certain extent from Democrats, such as President Clinton.

Democrats were the free trade party until the late 1970s.  President Grover Cleveland was a free trader.

Republicans were the party of protection, until the 1940s.

Republicans were the Northern party and so there was manufacturing there, etc.

Legendary House Speaker Sam Rayburn was a Democrat from Texas and he blamed the Great Depression on the Smoot Hawley tariff.  He powerfully advocated free trade.
