  1. you mean the newist flight simulator x,yes the deluxe pack will help a lot!! my email is cleosimble@yahoo.com

  2. What is "highly paid" to you?  The path from beginning to $100k+ a year generally takes 15-20 years and involves spending a lot in the process.  If pay is the primary motivation, you'll never make it to that point.

Will FSX help?  Maybe a little bit in the first five hours of flight training, but that's pretty trivial.  You may pick up on some concepts a little faster, but if you trust your FSX training over what your flight instructor tells you, it will be more of a hindrance than a help.

The general path for becoming a professional pilot: start with an intro flight at a local airport.  Shop around for flight instructors.  It will take about 2 years of training before you can get paid to fly.  Be prepared to spend $30,000+ on training.  Get a college education somewhere in the process.  Then be prepared to spend 5-10 years in extremely low-paying jobs while you build your experience.  Life will get more comfortable after that if you still have a good attitude.

I really don't mean to sound pessimistic about the career path - only realistic.  I traveled that path and I love my job as a corporate pilot.  I'm not exactly "highly paid", but I'm not living on the streets either.  It's a very enjoyable way for me to support my family.
