1. you need to just got to the nearest track to you and sign up for races there.

  2. Yes, I think we can all agree that hawk has issues, not to mention some really lame answers. I guess I should be careful or he'll start giving me thumbs down on all my answers and I just don't know how I could live with that.

How do you want to be involved in racing? If you mean how to become a pro racer in the US that is one thing, but if you mean in some other aspect you will need to clarify. Being a pro racer in the US is simple. You just race local events until you are good enough to place in a qualifier for the national amateur championship held each year in TN. You go there and beat the fastest amateurs riders in the country and get signed...simple!!

  3. ;.

~ THAT kinda insult on your CV will take you far !

Racing has been a major hobby of mine for 40+ years - I have ridden and raced various bikes for over 30 years - I can't imagine how much money I have thrown into riding !!!!!!!!!!

    YOU'D THINK BY NOW, I'D BE A WORLD CLASS RACER - A -

  4. You should buy a CRF250 Honda and Race it in Australia. This will make you a factory rider by this time next year.

  5. i would start racing at a local race track and race or die!:) and yes it is a very expensive sport!:(

  6. If you are old enough to type the question, you are too old to start.

You need to racing [ anything ] mini-moto / go cart / off road dirt bikes, when you are about 5/6.

Be a club champion by 8.

Be signed up by a local main agent by 10.

Be in the MotoGP Academy in Spain by 12.

Be winning the Spanish Championship by 14.

Be racing full time for a factory team by 15.

Be racing for the World Championship by the time you are 16.

....................... or just be called be Bradley Smith, as that is his last few years.

This takes over a decade to plan for, massive talent and parents who are willing to sell there home just to get you there ( ALA Smith, Hopkins & Stoner, to name a few )

You want to know how to become a racer? There's your answer.

  7. Firstly here in Australia it is much harder to make it in racing than in most other countries and the person who seems to constantly want to have a personal dig at me answering on here has no idea as to what they are talking about, as if they did they would know how hard it is for kids to make it here. You don't get heaps of people wanting to sponsor you even if you are really good and the few that do get a factory ride are usually the child of someone who knows someone and can just happen to ride quite well. They don't have to be the very best.

Of those who have gotten that ride only a couple will actually get to go on and ride pro and here we only have about 20 fully sponsored factory pro riders all told and the definition of fully sponsored here is certainly not the same as in America.

So those who are in the sport have to have parents that are prepared to go to major extremes to let their kids have the chance and then all the kids aim to get to ride in America as the opportunities are so much greater. The tracks are better and safer and instead of racing on a supercross track that has been hastily put together so the promotor does not have to outlay any more than necessary the tracks are prepared with care.

But as for how you should go about getting into racing as a career you have to start at the beginning and win heaps of races and get sponsors and see where it takes you. There is no short cut.

  8. Well lets see... two months ago you asked if anyone could tell you everything about motorcycles. your obviously in the UK as you said your taking your CBT. so no knowledge of Bikes at 17. I'm assuming 17 because of your 125 questions. no knowledge of racing. if I were you I would stick to the Mechanic side of racing. or become the Tattooist. Forget trying to become a racer. Buy your 125 and enjoy just riding around the county on it.
