What pattern do you use to?

I need to know what pattern you use to crochet a headband or a beanie. For a headband, is it possible to join TWO DIFFERENT COLOURS of yarn and more to make stripes or weird patterns or do you have to buy ONE ROLL OF YARN THAT IS MULTICOLORED? I have a headband that is striped colours and it looks like it was made with separate rolls of string joined together somehow. PLEASE HELP! I REALLY need some help on how to joins separate yarns and make colourful odd patterned headbands mainly. Anybody who really helps me will get best answer!

you can join any colors together to form strips.  you can find visual aide  in u tube on how to join yarns. There are all kinds of visual aids for crocheting in U tube so check it out ... Also if you type it in the search engine you will find all kinds of sites that will explain step by step.  I am a moderator for a crochet group with over a 1000 members if you'd like to join to learn more about crocheting  the group is Crochet Heaven it is a yahoo group..
