I think it's half of the commision the company charges.

Seller pays 6% which is split between buyer and sellers agent, then that usually gets split between broker and agent.   So lets say you are an agent and your agreement with your broker is a 75/25 split.  You show a house and the buyer buys it for 100k.  3% is 3,000 dollars from which you will get 2,250 dollars....Also you sometimes pay Errors and ommissions fees, so you would probably get about 1900 or so in that scenerio.  Some places though you get 50/50 split and I once saw one broker do a 10/90 split where the agent only got 10% of the 3000$ commission.  But That broker was also paying a monthly wage of i think 1300 per month.
