Unemployment is a state-run program and all states are different.  In many states, it is not based upon a flat percentage but rather a sliding scale (the more you made the smaller percentage you receive).  Check your state's web site and search for unemployment insurance or unemployment compensation.


  2. They take your 4 highest months of earnings and reward you with almost 1/2 of those wages spread out over an alloted period of time that your eligible to receive earnings.

    If you had been laid off by no fault of your own... that gets you unemployment. At least in my state. You should check with your own local employment commission.
