This is a difficult issue. One way of estimating a fair amount would be based on GDP. We should probably ignore the smaller countries in this analysis because they simply wouldn't have the resources to contribute large amounts. Based on this analysis the significant contributors would be

However, this is probably a little unfair to China. While they have a significant GDP, their per capita income is very low ranking 99th in the world with $5,292 (or about 12% of the US income per person).

I think our annual contribution is around 22%, although I think we have refused to pay in various years, or paid late. 22%, when compared to the above chart, seems kind of meager. Somehow there are some folks in the US that believe that the UN is simply our lap dog who should do our bidding rather than a democratic institution.
