What percent of the world lacks plumbing?

Sorry, I don't know, but since the question has been up for a long time unanswered, I thought I'd suggest trolling around on the United Nations web site. I bet you can find it there, somewhere.

Of course, it would be an estimate, but probably a pretty good one.

I think it's more. the U.S. is probably 33%. Do you consider well water and a septic tank plumbing?

The Census Bureau categorizes U.S. wastewater disposal into three types: public sewer, septic tank or cesspool, and "other" means, such as privies and outhouses.
