What percentage of Americans are shocked by lightning each year?

Where i am right now, there is a huge thrunder storm with lots of lightning. My step dad thinks i will get struck by lightning since i am on the computer, and i want to tell him how minimal the percent of people who actually get shocked is.

That link has answers to your question. There are no percentages there, but it does have useful statistics. Feel free to rub the stats in his face if you'd like. Keep in mind one thing though, its better to play it safe than to be sorry. The chances are low, but they do exist.
