Question:

What percentage of cars in Korea are foreign made?

I would estimate about 5%. Does anybody know?

  1. I don't know the exact amount, but 5% sounds about right. Most Koreans buy one of the Korean brands like Hyundai, Kia or Samsung Motors (SM). You do see lots of BMW, Audi, etc in Seoul. I have also seen quite a few of Mini Coopers and PT Cruisers


  2. You are not that far off...

    In 2005, foreign cars made up 3% of the market.  It's possible this is virtually unchanged as of last year.

  3. I don't know the figure, but foreign cars are expensive, so most of the cars are domestic.

    Looking at the traffic the 5% figure could be close.
