Not as bent as they used to be.  It's normally your plain clothes, CID, drug squad police that are bent.  I don't know what percentage, but the variety of corruption is limited only by your imagination.

all police are bent to a degree. they might just issue a traffic ticket because there in a bad mood.They usally lie in there police breifs or on charge sheets etc all lie to some degree so as they get the best out come for them against whom they have arrested. A lot are themself dealers of drugs as well as pass on information of informents etc as well as protect criminals for there own gain etc some even have what is called a rent a witness.

You need to look at your definition of "bent".

If you mean do some cops cut corners in order to acheive a result, then the answer would be yes. The reason is because the government insist on recruiting humans to do the job.

Wherever humans work in a job there will always be good workers and bad workers, its a fact of life.

When you can come up with a better way to staff the police, let us know. I believe your question has only one purpose, to insult police officers and to incite hate. This is obvious by your claims of 80/90%. Therefore I hope your question gets reported.

Very, very few, but you always get the odd rotten apple in every profession and it's usually at the top. 99.99% of Officers I know are honest, decent guys who only want to help people.
