What percentage of solar energy is used up each year?

  1. Wow.  I'm pretty vague about what you mean by "solar energy" and what you mean by "used up."

    If by solar energy, you mean the electricity generated by solar panels, then I'll have to say 100%.

    If by solar energy you mean all the radient solar energy that strikes the earth, then I'll have to ask what you mean by "used up."

    If by "used up" you mean that it goes somewhere, then I'd have to say 100%.

    If by "used up" you mean that it is somehow consumed by a living being, then I'd need to do a web search on how much of the earth is covered by concrete.  Because all the rest of it is "used up" by plants - both on land and in the ocean - or by animals sunbathing or by solar panels or to heat homes..

    If by "used up" you mean that it strikes solar panels, then I'll need to do a web search on the total square feet of solar panels installed to date.

    But since I'm not prepared to do two or three web searches to answer one question, I'll just ask you what you mean instead.
