I am voting for him because he is for the people......he wants change for the people! Now when I say people I mean every race, ethnic background, religion who has been waiting for a change!

That figure is meaningless because it's not based on any real facts.

However, since we are pulling percentages out of the air, what percentage of McCain voters are doing so simply because he's the white candidate?  Please don't say zero because you know that is not true.

This seems to me to be just an oversimplified and ignorant question.

If you are voting based on any single factor (race, gender, party, etc), you are failing in your duty as a responsible democratic citizen.  Get informed on the candidates' platforms that matter to you, or stay home in November.  No vote is better than an ignorant vote.

In my opinion, Obama's skin color will have no impact on his duties as a president.  However, electing a black man to the most powerful seat in the country is a very strong symbol, one that has a lot of power to erase some of this countriy's racial injustices and inequalities.  In this regard, I consider his skin color an asset.  Not a deal-breaker or anything; I would be voting for a white Obama over a black McCain.

Can  his skin  give people  medical coverage, who aren't able to afford it?

Obama will win no matter what. he is an amazing leader, unlike john mccain who has been in washington for the past 30 years, has done nothing, and is now claiming to be an advocate of change. i don't know if any one remembers when mark sanford couldn't find ONE difference between john mccains platform and bushes. besides sara palin is the worst pick possible for a vp. she is inexperienced, has a prego daughter, and has no knowledge of foreign affairs whatsoever. obama will end this war in iraq and bring home our troops. he will solve the economic crisis and will make our country more green. now tell me again why some one wouldn't vote for him regardless of his skin color?
