I used to be a henpecked husband but then I abandoned feminism and actually took charge of my own life.

My wife is watching me type this.

This is a great example of how feminists ask questions here.

It is getting a bit formulaic really. Ask a question that illustrates how badly women are treated by treating men badly.

There's nothing funny about domestic abuse and besides the men are here in response to man hating.

The question describes a man who is afraid of his wife. If he is afraid, he is being abused in some way. Henpecking is abuse, its the frequency and relentlessness of it that makes it abuse. Think of the amount of damage a nagging wife can do in a decade? It would be something like Chinese water torture I suppose. These are the husbands who seem nice but snap at some point for no obvious reason and you must be aware of the connection between controlling mothers and serial killers and rapists?  So as I said, its nothing to joke about.

I was falsely accused of domestic abuse, caught in a bind because well, that's just the way it's set up, anyway, I defended myself successfully, and in the process I learnt a fair bit about it, read a lot about personality disorders. Women aren't diagnosed with them as much as men as their methods are subtle and harder to detect, excessive henpecking would be a good example of this.

OK I've explained.....

EDIT Murphdog, I don't see woman haters here really, I'm not, I spend most weekends laughing with a woman, the debate here is always about the hypocrisy's of feminists and the questionable social and political agenda of feminism. You are very mistaken if you believe that disagreeing with this ideology is the same thing as woman hating.

With that said, I'm sure there is a certain number of men who are anti feminists who have:

1) Had issues with women in the past and specifically a system that screwed them over

2) women in thier life they feel powerless against

I have this vision of one poster.  He has admitted that he still lives with mom and dad (at least I think dad is still in the picture).  My vision is that he is employed as the mall security guard and the closest he gets to women is the video screen in the security booth.  The women he sees up close treat him with utmost disregard and he takes it out on us.     He pretends with us that he is the alpha male and has women dripping from his arms!    

His mom is probably the one who henpecks him!

Wow sounds like the shaming language used by Women to silence Men. I am certain that many Men in the Men's Movement who are posting here do so due to their treatment in Divorce. Does spending 27 years in Prison for a Rape you did not commit, disproven due to DNA Evidence matter? Shorter Life Span? Higher suicide Rate 4 times higher? Does it matter than 94% of those who die on the Job are Men? That 85% of retail space is devoted exclusively to Women, matter? If not keep posting the lame and stupid insults.

its a womens world,with all the world around them,trying to woo them,by gifting them beyond their pocket,end up in lock ups,its the women who rule the world indirectly coz they r better manipulaters,multitaskers,kids in their favour,law in their favour,.the haves women have the benefits of laws meant for have nots and the needy .so what u expectin most cases is henpecked city husbands and Macho rural cowboys having their say.however the percentage of women suffering is more in the rural areas and undeveloped countries and needs help.

Edit: Eoghan I'm confused think its a term thing.  You see "henpecked" as abuse?  There is of course verbal abuse that happens to men, put downs, yelling, cussing etc.  but I wouldn't consider that henpecking.  See that as more "honey fix the sik, the sink is dripping fix it. did you fix the sink yet?" you know nagging not abuse. Any way please explain the abuse in his statement
