  2. in america its 10% of the winnings, but then he has to give his agent and valet a cut of that 10%

  3. 10% of the winners share of the purse.

  4. No they might NOT ever be able to change the amount they are given .. That is Bribery

    Never may that ever change

Where in the world did you get that !!

They get what is coming to them period,,

If a owner or trainer bribes a Jockey By saying I will give you more money if you win

    Your in BIG TROUBLE,

And if a owner wants to give a Jockey a gift he may do so . as long as NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT ,,

  5. 10 %

  6. 10% of the winnings plus a small mount fee, I know the mount fee for the Kentucky Derby is $65.

  7. A Jockey gets between 45 and 65 dollars a mount.

They can also get 10% of the winning owners purse, which is normally 55-60% of the total purse.  This is not guarantied.

Of that the jockey gives 10% to his valet who helps the trainer saddle the horse he is riding, cleans the jockeys silks that he wears, makes sure the saddle is in with the right weight.  Among other things.

The jockey also gives between 10-25% to his agent who gets the mounts for him.

Most of your jockeys are not rich. They live day to day.  Just like the rest of us.

  8. 10%

It may seem little, but a lot of leading jockeys race about 7 out of 9 races!

  9. The standard is 10% of whatever the horse wins in the race... and a horse doesn't have to come first to win money... the purse is usually split up among the finishers... first place obviously makes more money, but horses do win some money for 2nd and other placings.  Jockeys may contract with trainers to get a different amount (a flat fee for riding workouts in the mornings and races in the afternoon), but that's very rare... by a different amount, I mean a different percent.  Or they can be under contract to ride just for that trainer and in that case, the trainer might pay the jockey something like a salary instead of a percentage.

  10. I have no idea, so I am gonna guess, I would say they get a flat fee maybe , or how about a min amount, then if they win, place or show it would be a varied scale ????

It is probally a contract set up between the owner and jockey and could be different for every horse and owner.
