I know it depends on your salary, so state your salary also. I'm trying to figure out if I make $50,000, what percentage of that money do I actually get to spend. I know it depends on a lot of things, but even a rough guess is ok...but don't answer if you don't have a real job or pay taxes please. Thank you!

  1. Salary W-2 employee with pay 3825 in FICA taxes (social security and medicare)

The rest really depends. Can you deduct anything, like, do you have a mortgage or property taxes?

For singe, one exemption, you will pay about $9,000/yr in withholding. So, a shade less than $13,000 to federal taxes a year.

If you are not single one, look it up in Pub 15/Circ. E http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p15.pdf

    State depends on the state.
