  1. I say snakes! I have snakes, and they're amazing. :)

  2. Well Rats are cheaper in the long run to own compared to snakes; but snakes live longer & are simply stunning in my opinion.

Consider a species of Corn-Snake; universally one of the most absolute rewarding snakes to own - Both in ease of handling & dramatic colouration.

Remember in most states you need a license to keep a snake.

Snakes as mentioned are not only more expensive then rats to purchase but usually more expensive to maintain then most animals of their size due to equipment & health requirements. Like other domestic animals they need they're vet visits for vaccinations just like any of animal & always need a near perfect environment to inhabit - They require a clean, safe, secure, temperature & humidity correct environment - each species is different.

They're prone to parasites, viruses, bacteria, fungi due to the prey they eat carrying it onto them; this is another issue. Feeding: The prey should preferably be dead to prevent injury to your snake & be of a good source as to not introduce infection & disease into your snake.

Then again you could keep both a snake & a few rats which would allow you to feed the baby euthanized, still birth or day-old rats to your snake. This is an economical option if carried out correctly.

  3. get a rat their clean and easy to train all you need to do is feed them and give them water and play with them!!!!! LOLZ

  4. i guess neither they're both dangerous and rats carry diseases...get a kitten or a puppy..the best

  5. Ask for roommate or parents before you get anything. Then, find out whether snakes or rats match your environment. Think of responsibility of the two. Which one can you keep up with longer? After that which breed matches your type of environment and personality. Keeping a pet is fun, but it also is hard work.

    Good Luck!

  6. if i were you i'd pick a snake because you et to play with more and you won't lose it a mouse you will!!!

  7. well, they have an Excellent selection of Reptiles and Rodents at your local pet store, Pet Smart, in my opinion is more sanitary than Pet Co. I have gotten all my pets from Pet Smart, and they have/still living long lives, I've gotten a hermit Crab from them, which lived 2 years, 2 betta's still living, two years old, and my birds, now 5 years old. Pet smart is where the pets should go! not petco. I went to Petco once and the service was bad, bafd, bad. I had to wait 20 minutes just so a sales associate could answer my question about Betta's. most of the people that they hire are clueless, and are always like huh? and Pet smart employee's are auctually helpful, and take 5 minutes at the most to come to you.

  8. Get some rats. Rats are amazing pets. Don't listen to all the people saying they have diseases, they're just really, really misinformed people. Rats are super clean and friendly, they can learn tricks and they're not very expensive to keep. They do need a lot of attention though if you want them to be tame. Good luck on whichever you choose.

  9. cow? make sure u dont have cow flap....

  10. gross for both, but go for a schnake.

  11. they're both scary but rats Carry  diseases so snake

  12. Personally I think rats or mice don't make good pets. I've had two ball pythons. They make good pets and are probably the best snake to start out with but they do get big so make sure you'll be able to support a 4-5 ft long snake :3
