  1. Definitely doves. Their cooing is really soothing, and if you can shoulder train them, it's even better.

  2. I personally love dogs, and I feel like at some point I read somewhere that they reduce stress, and I believe fish do as well, though I am not sure. Dogs also help you get in shape more if they need exercise, or can just provide a nice pal to cuddle up with on the couch when you watch TV if you want. With so many different breeds, I'm sure that if you decide to get a dog you can find something that will work for you.

Of course, if you have any preference already as to which pet you wanted, your gut feeling may be better to go with, but I think it doesn't get much better than dogs.

  3. Cats !

I volunteer at local senior homes and hospitals and I have seen the affect petting a cat has on someone who has experienced a stroke, heart attack, cancer or other illness.  It is amazing what relief is gained just by the act of stroking a cat. Throw in purring and it's almost miraculous!

And when kitty is on my lap purring away -and demanding that I pet her -I feel my stress melt away.

Test it for yourself !  Sit quietly with kitty on your lap, pet her gently and when she starts purring, feel your own stress washing away.

There have been many medical and scientific studies on this.  Here is a link to an example of one of these studies.

  4. fish

  5. Cats, cats, cats. They are such beautiful animals. Calm, loyal, so content. The way my feline, Bella just lays there on my bed so care-free and happy, inspires me to do that. She just sits there and slowly bats her eyes open and shut, peeking at me, untill she gets so sleepy she has to rest her head and fall asleep. Because she's so laid back and stress-free.. just being in her presence makes me feel the same.

  6.        If you live in a farm try the horse if you live in the city

       try cats or dogs.

  7. having pets' causing the stress..

you have to feed, wash, brush, and love 'em.

    and what else?

    maybe... um.... scooping poops?

they will be nice friends for ya.

but, if you're finding pets for reducing your stress,

    think again.
