  1. metamorphosis in both is simiilar

  2. All phases of mitosis are similar to the phases of meiosis.

Both start off by duplicating the nuclear contents in interphase and go through Prophase (P), Metaphase (M), Anaphase (A), and Telophase (T).

The only difference is that :

1.Meiosis only happens in the gametes and

2.Meiosis goes through Interphase once and the other phases twice, so you end up with Prophase I, Metaphase I, Anaphase I, Telophase I, and Prophase II, Metaphase II, Anaphase II, Telophase II.

The same things happen in the phases:

Prophase- the nuclear envelope breaks and the centrosomes move to opposite ends of the cell. The chromatids condense into visible chromosomes.

Metaphase- The chromosomes line up in a row in the middle of the cell.

Anaphase- the chromosomes separate and are pulled to opposite ends of the cell

Telophase- the cell pinches in half and slipts into two.
