I am trying to tell my ex boyfriend that i can see his heart is not open and it looks like it is locked up for an amount of time (I don't know how long). Basically I'm looking for a phrase to say :

It looks like your heart is locked away for......?

I want to say something liek "an amount of time" i dont know Like somethign like an indefinite amt of time- something that doesn't say something too negative Like for example I want to say something similar to this sentence..

It appears that your heart is locked up "for an indefinite amount of time".

So want to use another phrase meaning almost same thing as " an indefinite amount of time, preferably a short amount of time :-) Thanks

  1. IMPRISONMENT or IMPRISONED could be use to express that his heart has been caged for an apparent time or passage. Imprisonment/Imprisoned could be use as a long or short amount of time. Such as - "It appears that your heart has been imprisoned for it's apparent in our time."

Apparent can mean either, long or short, meaning - it's obvious. Here are some other lyric ideas to consider:

"It appears that your heart has been imprisoned for some time.

Or-" Unlock your heart from inprisonment and set your time free."

Play around with the words until it sounds right to you. When it's right you'll know it.

Good luck and I hope this helped somewhat.

  2. "temporarily"

    "briefly"

    "for a moment"

  3. You could say, "for the duration", or "for the time being" or simply, "temporarily".

  4. It looks like your heart is locked away for

    awhile

    a stretch

    a period
